This is from my myspace Blog....

My trip to New York was a good one. You can learn a lot when you go to a new place. For starters I learned I do not want to live there…Ever. As much fun as I had, I was more than ready to come home! I'm sure if I were in a different place in my life (i.e.…single, childless) I would feel differently but where I am now, I am so happy. Coming home, I was so thankful for what I have. I am so thankful to be able to raise my family in a great little town, with great people around and be blessed enough to have a home, with a yard and great neighbors. Not that you could not have that in New York, but it certainly would be more of a challenge. You also learn in a place like New York to be assertive and not let people walk all over you. I think in the 3 days I was there, I learned that and by the end of the trip I was a little more aggressive. Also, you see so much materialistic behavior in New York. You see people that depend on money to make them happy. You see this in the stores…or boutiques. You see it on the streets, in the restaurants. Everywhere I would go the covetousness of "must have" was there. It was something that I did not even think about before, and only realized it when it was right in front of me. Materialistic people are so gluttonous they are only thinking of themselves and ALWAYS of themselves. That is something you do not see a lot of here. It may be because "us Texans" are more laid back and those that are like that are hiding it because of shame or guilt, or it may be because we are just more simple people. Either way, I am so glad that I am not like that. Don't get me wrong I love to shop, have a nice bag, or a nice pair of shoes, but I could never life my life depending on all of that. It was just something that took me by surprise.

All in all, the trip was great! It was great to see my best friend from 2nd grade and how she has become this independent woman! It was amazing! Thank you for having us! It was really cool to see everything that you see on T.V. and always dream of seeing. Walking into the middle of Times Square for the first time and seeing all the lights and screens was pretty awesome!

If you have not ever been there…GO. Otherwise, blah blah blah!
